We’ve made an official decision on the 2020 edition of the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon.
Being the largest organized fitness event in Atlantic Canada is both a blessing and a burden in these challenging times. We’re so proud to welcome more than 11,000 people to our start line every year and to work with the people of Halifax to provide support, encouragement and an extraordinary experience at every step you take on course. But at a time when large gatherings are unsafe and keeping a respectful distance between people remains a priority, we have faced some planning challenges.
We have been as transparent as possible as we navigated these unprecedented times and worked with the province and our stakeholders to brainstorm ways to maintain an extraordinary experience under the provincial guidelines surrounding COVID-19. Because training for a race is such an important part of success, we felt it was time to make a final decision.
As this point in time, we are disappointed to announce that we are unable to offer an in-person Blue Nose Marathon experience in 2020.
But, if Blue Nose can survive 2005 (Who was there?!?!?!), it can survive anything – and the show MUST go on.
The 17th annual Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon will do something it’s never done before, and we hope you’ll join us to make it one to remember – We’re going virtual!
