Traffic Delay – Hammonds Plains Road
Location: Between 123 Hammonds Plains Road and 76 Hammonds Plains Road
Date: Monday, Dec. 11 and Tuesday, Dec. 12
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work includes asphalt repair in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: An altered centre line will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Agricola Street
Location: Agricola Street, between Young and Duffus streets
Date: Monday, Dec. 11 to Friday, Dec. 22
Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays (reopening overnights and weekends)
Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt repair, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: A rolling closure will be in place a few blocks at a time, in the northbound direction only. A signed detour route will be in place. Local traffic will be maintained and sidewalks will remain open while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street
Location: Oxford Street, between North Street and Seaforth Street
Date: Saturday, Dec. 9 and Sunday, Dec. 10
Time: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Work details: This delay is to facilitate Nova Scotia Power work.
Traffic impact: Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes. The east side sidewalk will remain closed. The west side will remain open.

Traffic Delay – Eastern Passage Holiday Parade
Location: Shore Road and Main Road
Date: Sunday, Dec. 10
Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Eastern Passage Holiday Parade.
Traffic impact: Traffic delays are expected as the parade travels through the community. The parade will begin at Fisherman’s Cove, turn left onto Shore Road, turn left again onto Main Road and proceed north before ending at the Royal Canadian Legion.
Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Lacewood Drive
Location: Lacewood Drive, from Bayview Road to Braemount Drive
Date: Thursday, Dec. 7
Time: 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Cunard Street
Location: Cunard Street, between Maynard Street and Creighton Street
Date: Thursday, Dec. 7
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is to facilitate Nova Scotia Power work.
Traffic impact: South side sidewalk will be closed. North side will remain open. Motorists should anticipate delays and are asked to use alternative routes.

Road Closure – South Street
Location: South Street between South Park Street and Queen Street
Date: December 5 to 6
Time: 24 hours/day
Work details: This work is due to infrastructure installation and tower crane take-down.
Traffic impact: Local access will be maintained. Sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Bus stops 8300, 8295, 8292, and 8299 will be closed.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: In the vicinity of 3514 Joseph Howe Drive
Date: Tuesday, Dec. 5 to Friday, Dec. 8
Time: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily.
Work details: This work is to reinstate the curb and asphalt due to infrastructure installation.
Traffic impact: Two-lanes of traffic will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Bus stops will not be affected. West side sidewalk will be closed. East side will remain open.

Traffic Disruption – Pleasant Street
Location: 585 Pleasant Street and area
Date: Saturday, December 2 to Saturday, December 16
Time: 24/7
Work Details: This is to facilitate repairs to underground infrastructure.
Traffic impact: Northbound (inbound) direction will be reduced from two lanes to one lane while work is underway. No impacts to sidewalks. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Alderney Drive
Location: Alderney Drive between Portland Street and Prince Street
Date: Monday, December 4
Time: 1 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Work details: This delay is to facilitate crane work.
Traffic impact: The northbound lane will remain open while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: 3514 Joseph Howe Drive
Date: Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3
Time: 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Details: The work is to facilitate the installation of infrastructure in the area, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Two lanes of traffic will be maintained while work is underway. The sidewalk on the west side of Joseph Howe Drive will be closed, and the sidewalk on the east side will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Albemarle Street
Location: Albemarle Street between Cogswell and Duke streets
Date: December 4 to 22
Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Work Details: This work is for gas main installation for a development.
Traffic Impact: One lane traffic will remain at all times on Albemarle Street. Access to parking structures will be maintained. Work impacting Duke Street is peak hour restricted and two-way traffic will be maintained at all times on Duke Street. The sidewalk on the west side will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Salt Springs Brook Bridge, Trunk 7
Salt Springs Brook Bridge on Trunk 7, about four kilometres south of the Town of Antigonish, is reduced to one lane until Friday, December 22.
Temporary traffic signals are in place.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Commercial Street Bridge, Glace Bay
Commercial Street Bridge is closed for repairs until Friday, December 8.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River
Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.
The detours are on Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until Friday, December 15, for work on the bridge decking.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road, South Middleboro
Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed until Friday, December 15 for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge.
Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmonds Road and Keers Mill Road.
Vehicles more than four metres wide need to plan an alternate route because of the width of structures on the detour route.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16, Lincolnville
Trunk 16, from 0.2 kilometres north of the Old Monastery Road northerly to 1.4 kilometres north of the Lincolnville Loop, has alternating lane closures for paving and brush cutting until Friday, December 15.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville
Highway 102 from Exit 4A to Exit 4C has lane reductions and intermittent road closures in both directions for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange until Friday, December 22.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange), Halifax
Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street will continue through December.
Traffic control is on-site.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The westbound on-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A or Exit 7. The on-ramp is closed until April 30, 2024.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Baccaro Road, Port La Tour
Baccaro Road has alternating lane closures for roadwork until Friday, December 15.
Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Trunk 3, Shag Harbour
Trunk 3, from Evelyn Richardson Memorial Elementary School to 350 metres west of Pas Lane, will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until Sunday, December 31.

Highway 103 at Exit 33, Gavel Road Overpass, has alternating lane closures for bridge rehabilitation until Monday, December 18.

Route 308, from Indian Sluice Bridge to the wharf on Morris Island, is reduced to one lane for road repairs until Friday, December 15.
