New Glasgow Regional Police recently welcomed a new member. Napoleon, who is a Canine Therapy for First Responders

CTFFR Atlantic has provided iNapoleon, a 3yo fully trained golden doodle, to join the ranks and members of the New Glasgow Regional Police in New Glasgow, NS.

Born July 31/2021, Napoleon comes to
Canine Therapy for First Responders from his former position with the NB Fire Peer Support Program at the New Brunswick Office of the Fire Marshall. Napoleon trained and visited with thousands of people and Responders during his post. He also was part of the 2022 AWLE (Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement) conference with his handler (Brian Brown, NB Office of the Fire Marshal) discussing Mental Health.

Napoleon officially entered the CTFFR Facility Dog program in April 2023 and undertook 6 months of additional training for his new job placement with the New Glasgow Police.

Napoleon will be supported by his primary handler Constable Donnie Wadden and will be assisted by handlers Constable Zach Sharpe and Detective Constable Dan Worth.

Over the next 6-12 months, Napoleon and his K9 Handlers will work towards the completion of his program and designated Certifications under the direction of CTFFR Executive Canine Program Director and Head Master Trainer Rhonda Langille, along with his assigned CTFFR Apprentice Trainer Rebecka Neil.

Canine Therapy for First Responders, Inc (CTFFR Atlantic) provides this program at no cost to our community heroes by actively fundraising with local community businesses for their support of Napoleon and his work, engaging private citizens, and ongoing continual fundraising.

As a non-funded agency, it is truly the collective communities and their support of our many First Responders that support the costs to deliver the program.

When you see Napoleon in the community say hi to him and the handlers who make our community safe.
