Canadian Armed Forces Transition Unit NS/NL will conduct the 2023 X-Treme Relay from CFB Halifax to CFB Greenwood
Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony of the 2023 X-Treme Relay on October 25 to promote fitness and support the Soldier On program. This two-day relay will see Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Transition Centre (TC) employees walk from TC Halifax to TC Greenwood in 30-minute increments using Nova Scotia Trunk 1 as the principal route.
Soldier On is a CAF program which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational, and creative activities.
WHAT: Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony to capture footage of the departure. There will be an opportunity to interview the CAF Transition Unit NS/NL Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Ross Bonnell and potentially another participant.
WHEN: October 25, 2023, at 10 a.m. (AST)
Media are requested to arrive at the TC Halifax parking lot beside the CANEX at Windsor Park no later than 9:50 a.m. where they will be greeted and escorted to the site to cover the event.
