Road Closure – Waverly Road

Location: Waverly Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive

Date: Friday, October 27

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: The road closure will be in place to facilitate construction work.

Traffic impact: Waverly Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive, will be stop and go while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Lucien Drive

Location: Lucien Drive, from Dorothea Drive to Windward Avenue

Date: Friday, October 27

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Local street access will be maintained. Sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Portland Hills Drive

Location: Portland Hills Drive, from Portland Street to Bellbrook Crescent

Date: Thursday, October 26

Time: 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt repair, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops with occasional stop and go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Oxford Street

Location: Oxford Street (between North Street and Summit Street) and Seaforth Street (between Oxford Street and Dublin Street)

Date and time: Friday, October 27 – 6-8 p.m.
Saturday, October 28 – 8-6 p.m.

Sunday, October 29 – 9-6 p.m.

Work details: This work is to facilitate the dismantling and removal of the tower crane located at 2619 Oxford Street.

Traffic impact: Temporary signage and traffic control personnel will be on site while work is underway to assist pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicular traffic. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Brunswick Street

Location: Brunswick Street and Cogswell Street intersection

Date: 7 a.m. Saturday, October 28 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 29

Work details: This work is necessary to facilitate connection of a new watermain through the intersection. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.

Traffic impact: Signs and traffic control personnel will direct pedestrians through this intersection.

Vehicle traffic will be maintained at all time through traffic control personal.

Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Lacewood Drive

Location: Lacewood Drive from Bayview Road to Braemount Drive

Date: Tuesday, October 24 to Wednesday, October 25

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work includes asphalt repair in support of the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes whenever possible.

Street Closure – Portland Street

Location: Portland Street, between Prince Street and Alderney Drive

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 24

Time: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Work Details: This closure is to facilitate filming of a television production.

Traffic Impact: Street closure will be in place. Local traffic will be maintained. Sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Agricola Street

Location: Agricola Street, between Young and Duffus streets

Date: Monday, October 23 to Friday, November 17

Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays (reopening overnights and weekends)

Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt repair, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: A rolling closure will be in place a few blocks at a time, in the northbound direction only. A signed detour route will be in place. Local traffic will be maintained and sidewalks will remain open while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Waverley Road

Location: Waverley Road adjacent to Montebello Drive

Date: Wednesday, October 25, and Thursday, October 26

Time: 7 p.m. until 6 a.m.

Work details: The overnight road closure will be in place to facilitate construction work, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: A section of Waverley Road, adjacent to Montebello Drive, will be closed while work is underway. Detour signage will be in place to direct motorists around the work site. A path will remain open, allowing pedestrians and cyclists through the work area. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes where possible.

Location: Robie Street between Duffus Street and Hillside Avenue

Date: Monday, October 23 to Friday, October 27

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work details: This work is to support underground utility work and restoration.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should use alternative routes whenever possible.

NEW WORK

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 106, Mount William Road Underpass, Westville

The Mount William Road underpass at Highway 106 and the section of highway above are closed for repairs until November 21.

Highway 106 traffic will flow north and south via the ramps at Mount William Road (Exit 1A). Mount William Road traffic will follow detour signs via Exit 2 on Highway 106 and exits 21 and 22 on Highway 104.

Traffic control is on-site.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Gavel Road Overpass, Tusket

Highway 103 at Exit 33, Gavel Road overpass, will have alternating lane closures for bridge rehabilitation from today, October 20, until December 18.

Traffic lights are in place. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

CONTINUING WORK

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Salt Springs Brook Bridge, Trunk 7

Salt Springs Brook Bridge on Trunk 7, about four kilometres south of the Town of Antigonish, is reduced to one lane until November 30.

Temporary traffic signals are in place.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Trunk 4, Antigonish

Trunk 4 between James and Church streets is closed, except to local traffic, until November 10 for construction of a roundabout.

Detour signs are in place.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Commercial Street Bridge, Glace Bay

Commercial Street Bridge is closed for repairs until November 17.

Detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Donaldson Bridge, French River

Donaldson Bridge on Lake Road, about three kilometres west of Tatamagouche, is closed until further notice.

The detours are on Trout Brook Road and Cooper Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche

Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.

A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro

Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until October 31 for work on the bridge decking.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche

Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice because of a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Fountain Road, South Middleboro

Fountain Road, between Hunter Road and Simmonds Road, is closed until October 31 for removal and replacement of the Howard Bridge.

Traffic will be detoured from Fountain Road via Simmonds Road and Keers Mill Road.

Vehicles more than four metres wide need to plan an alternate route because of the width of structures on the detour route.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16, Lincolnville

Trunk 16, from 0.2 kilometres north of the Old Monastery Road northerly to 1.4 kilometres north of the Lincolnville Loop, has alternating lane closures for paving and brush cutting until October 31.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford / Lower Sackville

Highway 102 from Exit 4A to Exit 4C has lane reductions and intermittent road closures in both directions for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 interchange, until October 30.
Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111 (Windsor Street Exchange), Halifax

Construction on the structure over Mackintosh Street is underway and will continue through October. Traffic control is on-site.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.

A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until December.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz

Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.

A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Highway 105, Big Marsh Road

Highway 105 from Big Marsh Road easterly for five kilometres is reduced to one lane for surfacing work until October 31.

Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport

Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.

A detour is in place.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Highway 104, Whiteside to Louisdale

Highway 104, from Whiteside to Louisdale, is reduced to one lane for surfacing work until October 31.

Traffic control will be on-site. Work takes place from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame

Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Baccaro Road, Port La Tour

Baccaro Road has alternating lane closures for roadwork until October 31.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Trunk 3, Shag Harbour

Trunk 3, from Evelyn Richardson Memorial Elementary School to 350 metres west of Pas Lane, will have alternating lane closures for roadwork until November 30.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Route 308, Sluice Point

Route 308, from Indian Sluice Bridge to the wharf on Morris Island, is reduced to one lane for road repairs until October 31.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.
