Nova Scotia Celebrates 2023 Cadet Day

Local cadet leaders and youth will join Barbara Adams, the new Minister responsible for Military Relations, to celebrate Cadet Day on Saturday, October 7.
Celebrated annually in Nova Scotia, this day recognizes the positive impact of the cadet program in developing community-minded future leaders.

“The cadet program offers young people the opportunity to come together to meet challenges and build skills they’ll use for the rest of their lives,” said Minister Adams. “We are proud to see cadets building stronger communities across our province.”

Cadet Day will be recognized at an event at Province House, which will include participation and remarks from local cadet leaders and youth, a flag raising and a reading of the Sea, Army, Air and Navy League Cadets Day Act. Minister Adams will recognize the achievements of the program in promoting a lifetime of fitness, volunteerism and citizenship.

There are currently 77 cadet units across the province, with about 2,500 cadets aged 12 to 18 years enrolled.
