Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit charge man with drug and firearms offences

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit has charged a man with drug and firearms offences after a search warrant was executed at a home in Waterville.

On September 28, 2023, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section, Annapolis District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit, Kings District RCMP and the Kentville Police Service General Investigation Section, executed a search warrant at a home Maple St. in Waterville. Police located a 33-year-old man at the home and safely arrested him. During the search, police located and seized cocaine, four rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, cash, scales and a cellular phone.

Michael Mitchell, 33, of Waterville, has been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm (5 counts), Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized (5 counts) and Careless Storage of a Firearm. Mitchell was released on conditions and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court on December 13, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
