Colchester County District RCMP arrest man for firearms offences
Colchester County District RCMP has arrested a man for firearms offences after an incident in Little Dyke, Colchester County.
On August 27, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP responded to a report of a man discharging a firearm towards three people on ATVs near Glenholme Marsh Rd. in Little Dyke. RCMP officers learned that an 18-year-old Little Dyke man, a 16-year-old male youth and a 15-year-old male youth, had been driving their ATVs near Glenholme Marsh Rd. when a man exited a home and discharged a firearm in their direction. As the victims were fleeing the area on their ATVs, the man discharged his firearm in their direction a second time. No one was injured during the incident.
RCMP officers secured the area around the home on Glenholme Marsh Rd. and speak to the suspect by phone. RCMP officers confirmed that the suspect was the only person home and they asked him to come out with his hands. The suspect complied and was safely arrested. The man was held in custody overnight and will appear in Truro Provincial Court today. He will be facing several firearms related charges including Discharging a Firearm.
RCMP officers executed a search warrant at the home on Glenholme Marsh Rd. and seized a firearm and ammunition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
