Albro Lake Beach and Oakfield Park Beach reopen to swimming

The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Albro Lake Beach in Dartmouth and Oakfield Park Beach in Oakfield have reopened to swimming.

Albro Lake Beach and Oakfield Park Beach are both supervised beaches. Municipal staff regularly test the water quality at all supervised municipal beaches, as well as one unsupervised beach, during the summer months.

Previous test results showed high bacteria levels in the water at Albro Lake Beach, but follow-up tests now show the water is once again safe, in accordance with Health Canada guidelines.

Oakfield Park Beach was previously closed due to high water levels, these have since receded, and regular bacteria testing has resumed indicating the water is safe for swimming.
