Nova Scotia Health contacting some people on Need a Family Practice Registry for validation
Nova Scotia Health is committed to continuously validating and improving the data of the Need a Family Practice Registry. As part of this work, we will be contacting a significant number of people currently registered to confirm whether they are still in need of attachment. No one contacted will lose their position on the registry or access to VirtualCareNS prior to validation.
It is important for Nova Scotians needing attachment to a family practice to keep their registry data up to date and ensure they renew their provincial health cards:
  • If you have moved or changed contact information, please update your registration profiles. They can be updated online at https://needafamilypractice.nshealth.ca/ or by calling 1-833-941-0040.
  • As a reminder, anyone on the registry can also add health information to their profile that will be used to direct them to services, resources, and care options in their community. This can be done through the same website and phone number.
  • Health cards can be renewed by calling the MSI office at 1-800-563-8880
We thank Nova Scotians for their assistance in improving this tool.
