Storm restoration continues today for the over 400 people NSP have on the ground
Crews are making repairs and working through damage caused by lighting and heavy rain.
Currently, the largest number of outages is in the East Hants area where one of our substations has been heavily impacted by flooding. Substations are built to withstand the impacts of water, however the significant water from this storm reached a level where some of the electrical equipment was affected. The water has receded enough for crews to be able to safely work to fully assess the equipment and reconnect the power today.
We expect to be able to restore power to the majority of remaining customers by tonight. It might take a little longer for some customers in harder to reach areas impacted by flooding, where it’s more challenging to access infrastructure and make repairs.
