RCMP investigates fatal single vehicle crash
RCMP is investigating a fatal single vehicle crash that occurred this morning in Shubenacadie.
Just before 7 a.m. on February 29, the RCMP, EHS and Fire responded to a single-vehicle collision occurred on Hwy. 102 in Shubenacadie. The initial investigation indicated a southbound SUV left the roadway and struck the overpass. The passenger of the SUV, a 45-year-old woman, died at the scene. A man and two youths were also in the SUV at the time of the collision and were taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. One youth was taken to hospital by LifeFlight.
Highway 102 was closed to southbound traffic between Exits 9 and 11 from the time of the collision until 2 p.m. this afternoon while the RCMP Collision Analyst was on scene. Traffic was diverted through Hwy. 2.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.
