Weekly Traffic Advisories (July 21)

**** Municipal Release

 Road Closure – Otago Drive

Location: Otago Drive from Poplar Drive to Cole Harbour Road

Date: Monday, July 31 until Tuesday, September 1

Time: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (excluding weekends)

Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: The street will be closed while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible. A signed detour route will be in place. Local street access will be maintained, and the sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delays – St. Margarets Bay Road

Location: St. Margarets Bay Road, from Sheppards Run to Lakelands Boulevard

Dates: Wednesday, July 26 to Thursday, September 21

Time: Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Work details: This work is related to the construction of a subdivision, and will include utility work, curb replacement, sidewalk placement and asphalt reinstatement.

Traffic impacts: Stop-and-go traffic, with an altered centerline, will be in place while work is underway. One sidewalk will remain open at all times, and pedestrian and cyclists will be redirected around the work site. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Road Closure – Upper Water Street

Location: Upper Water Street at Duke Street

Date: Tuesday, August 1

Time: 7 p.m. to midnight

Work details: This closure is to allow for the installation of asphalt in front of the Marriott Hotel. This work is in support of the Cogswell District project.

Traffic impact: Residents will be directed around the construction area by signs and traffic control personnel. A marked detour will be in place from Upper Water and Duke streets to Upper Water and Barrington streets, near the Baton Rouge restaurant.

Northbound vehicular traffic on Upper Water Street will be detoured west at Duke Street to Barrington Street. Transport trucks travelling northbound will detour at Lower Water Street moving west on Morris Street.

The sidewalk and bike lane along Upper Water Street will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists. Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Location: William Hunt Avenue, from Chebucto Road to Edward Arab Avenue

Date: Tuesday, July 25 to Tuesday, August 22

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (not including weekends)

Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance, which supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: William Hunt Avenue, from Chebucto Road to Edward Arab Avenue, will be closed while work is underway. A signed detour route will be in place. Local street access will be maintained, and the sidewalks will remain open. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Swaine Street, from Chebucto Road to Berlin Street

Date: Tuesday, July 25 to Tuesday, August 22

Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (not including weekends)

Location: Windsor Street from Bayers Road to Liverpool Street

Date: Monday, July 24 to Monday, August 7

Time: 24/7

Work details: This work is to facilitate watermain renewal.

Traffic impact: Local access will be maintained. A signed detour will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and use alternative routes.
