Police Investigate Vehicle & Pedestrian Collision

At 6:47 p.m., Halifax Regional Police responded to a vehicle & pedestrian collision at Gottingen Street / Uniacke Street Halifax.  A female child was crossing Gottingen Street in a crosswalk and was struck by a van travelling on Gottingen Street.  The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and has been transported to the hospital.  Investigators with Patrol, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.

Traffic Blocked: Traffic is blocked on Gottingen Street in both directions between Buddy Daye Street and Charles Street.  Traffic will remain blocked for an extended period while investigators process the scene.

Update – Traffic has been reopened.  The police are no longer on scene. Investigators with Patrol, Accident Investigation Section and Forensic Identification Section are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.  It is unknown if charges are pending.
