RCMP arrest a man involved in Middle Sackville stabbing

Halifax District RCMP has arrested a man following an aggravated assault that occurred in Middle Sackville.

This morning, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Halifax District RCMP and EHS responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on Wagner Dr. in Middle Sackville. Upon arrival at the scene, officers located the victim outside of the residence, a 38-year-old Middle Sackville man, who had been stabbed with a knife. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

RCMP officers entered the home and safely arrested a 25-year-old man, who is known to the victim.

The 25-year-old Middle Sackville man remains in custody.

Investigators remain at the scene to gather information and evidence.

The investigation is being led by the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division General Investigation Section.

UPDATE: Vandalism to wigwam in Liverpool solved

An investigation into the vandalism of a wigwam on Old Port Mouton Rd. in Liverpool has been solved.

On March 27, 2023, Queens District RCMP responded to the report of vandalism to a wigwam on school property on Old Port Mouton Rd. RCMP officers learned that someone removed the bark from the structure between March 24 and 27. Based on the initial investigation, the incident was treated as hate-motivated.

On June 13, 2023, Queens District RCMP were advised that three children came forwarded and took responsibility for the vandalism. All are under the age of 12. The matter is being dealt with by school administration, in consultation with the parents of the children.
