Police Investigate a Weapons Call (Stabbing) – Halifax
At 6:09 p.m., on the 12th of July, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a physical altercation between a group of adults with knives and bats near the intersection of Brunswick Street and Cornwallis Street, Halifax.
Multiple patrol officers responded and located some of the people involved. No one on scene was injured and no weapons were located. Officers discovered blood droplets in the area of the 2000 block of Brunswick Street. At the time it was is not known if the blood was related to the altercation. Investigators with the Forensic Identification Section processed the blood in the event an injured person was identified or come forward.
At 11:45 p.m., officers in Dartmouth located a 34 year old male with non-life threatening laceration injuries. Officers confirmed the male sustained the injuries during the physical altercation in Halifax. The injured male declined medical treatment.
The investigators believe the suspect and victim are known to one another. Investigators and are actively searching for the suspect. There is no suspect description at this time.
Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages. It is not known at this time if charges are pending.
