Police Investigate a Weapons Call (Stabbing) – Halifax

At 6:09 p.m., on the 12th of July, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a physical altercation between a group of adults with knives and bats near the intersection of Brunswick Street and Cornwallis Street, Halifax.​

Multiple patrol officers responded and located some of the people involved.​ No one on scene was injured and no weapons were located.​ Officers discovered blood droplets in the area of the 2000 block of Brunswick Street.​ At the time it was is not known if the blood was related to the altercation.​ Investigators with the Forensic Identification Section processed the blood in the event an injured person was identified or come forward.​ ​

At 11:45 p.m., officers in Dartmouth located a 34 year old male with non-life threatening laceration injuries.​ Officers confirmed the male sustained the injuries during the physical altercation in Halifax.​ The injured male declined medical treatment.​

The investigators believe the suspect and victim are known to one another.​ Investigators and are actively searching for the suspect.​ There is no suspect description at this time.​

Investigators with the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are conducting the investigation, which is in the early stages.​ It is not known at this time if charges are pending.​
