DNR air support has been an important resource at wildfires on Tantallon and Shelburne area
Pilots Daryl Ressler and Ian Moore (posed by helicopter in photo) are two of the pilots at Tantallon today.
They say they are flying about the distance of here to Bangor a day.
Air support provides information to crews both air and ground, finding flare ups which may be difficult to see from the ground and dumping water quickly ahead of ground crews sometimes in areas different to access by any other means.
The buckets hold about 200 gallons of water and can be filled in just about any reasonable body of water.
