Peloton Bike Model PL01 Seat Post recalled due to potential fall and injury hazard

Issue

The bike’s seat post assembly can break during use, posing fall and injury hazards to the user. The issue has occurred primarily in users who are taller than 5’11” (180 cm) and above 250 pounds (114 kg).

As of May 11th, 2023, the company has received 1 reported incident and no reports of injury in Canada.

Affected products

This recall involves Peloton Bikes with model number PL01. The bike measures 1.2 meters (4 feet) long and 0.6 meters (2 feet) wide, and has an adjustable seat, handlebar, and screen, which tilts up and down to accommodate different heights. The Peloton name and the model number are displayed on the inside front fork, near the flywheel.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled exercise bike and contact Peloton for a free repair.

Peloton is offering consumers a free seat post that can be self-installed. Starting after May 16, 2023, Peloton can be reached toll-free at (833) 821-0099 from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m. ET, 7 days a week or online at www.onepeloton.ca/replacement/checkout.
