Police lay firearms charges
Police have charged a man in relation to a firearms investigation.
On May 6 at approximately 7:30 p.m. East Division Patrol officers and members of the Emergency Response Team arrested a man in the area of Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth in relation to a firearms investigation. The man exited a vehicle and attempted to flee from police but was arrested after a short foot pursuit. Officers seized a loaded firearm from the man.
Stephen Derez Brown-Beals, 22, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial court today to face charges of:
- Possession of a firearm obtained by crime
- Possession of a loaded firearm
- Possession of a firearm in a vehicle
- Possession of a firearm without a license
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Carrying a concealed weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
- Storing a firearm contrary to the regulations
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Resisting arrest
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a court order (x2)
- Fail to comply with a probation order (x4)
