Halifax District RCMP arrest a wanted man

Halifax District RCMP arrest a man who was wanted in relation to a 2020 incident involving an assault with a weapon.

On April 28, at approximately 4 p.m., RCMP officers, assisted by the Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), attended a home on Amos Walter Dr. Upon arrival, they learned the suspect, a 70-year-old North Preston man, was distraught. The man, who was exiting and entering the residence while brandishing a knife and an axe, stated to police that he would not be arrested willingly.

Shortly before 6:20 p.m., after communicating with an RCMP Crisis Negotiation Team, chemical munitions were deployed and the man exited the home; he was arrested safely.

In relation to this incident, Sisco Milbial Clayton, 70, has been charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Failure to Comply with a Release Order and Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Clayton was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today.
