Shore Things 10th Anniversary with Halifax Mermaids Coming Soon

* The Shops of Fishermans Cove
Come on out to Fisherman’s Cove and shell-e-brate the seasonal opening of all the shops! Shore Things will be marking their 10th anniversary with the Halifax Mermaids! FREE family-friendly event, rain or shine! Meet us in the Heritage Centre and then make your way through the shops!
Grab a shell-fie, meet the merfolk, don some pirate garb, enter contests and more! You are welcome to dress up in a nautical theme!
Free face painting (while time and supplies last) courtesy of the Violet Unicorn.
Free balloon animals (while supplies last).
Here’s what you can currently expect during the event:
– A colouring contest for kids with the chance to win a swimable mermaid monofin and other prizes! Custom colouring sheets have been generously provided by an array of talented local artists.
– A Shelfie booth where you can enjoy nautical themed props or wear your own costume!
– A costume contest for kids (details coming soon).
– Free face painting courtesy of The Violet Unicorn (while time and supplies last, first come first served)
– Free balloon animals while supplies last (please balloon responsibly! Dispose of properly when finished)
– Adults are welcome to attend in their best nautical garb! Yes, bring your own mermaid tail/dress or pirate outfit to join the fun!
– Halifax Mermaids will be set up for meet and greets and photos, with postcard handouts while supplies last! Look for the shells and grab a photo with the Kelpie too!

Here’s some updated information as we get closer to the event!

Prizes have been donated from Halifax Mermaids, Shore Things, and the shops at Fisherman’s Cove.

We ask that everyone be respectful of mermaids and shop owners as we work together to bring you this fun event! Please be mindful of crowds and lineups for photos. Please self regulate when it comes to any contagious symptoms (we have a pregnant mermaid with us!). Please do not leave children unattended. Thank you so much for your cooperation.
