Police are requesting the public’s assistance in finding the owner of a quantity of money found in Halifax earlier this year.

On March 30, police responded to a report of money that had been found in a book borrowed from the Halifax Public Library in January. The person who borrowed the book returned the money to the library, but despite efforts by library employees, the owner of the money has not been identified.

Police are asking the owner or anyone with information about the money to call police at 902-490-5016. To claim the money, you must be able to provide details in relation the amount and denominations, information about the borrowed book and any other information useful in determining ownership.

We thank the library patron for doing the right thing and turning the money over to library employees.
