Upcoming Road Closure – Jubilee Road
Location: Jubilee Road bridge, with the closure occurring between Bloomingdale Terrace and Fairfield Street
Date: Beginning mid-April 2023, with confirmed start date of closure to be announced in the coming weeks.
Time: 24/7 from mid-April through to approximately late October.
Work details: The road closure is necessary to complete rehabilitation, repairs, and safety improvements to the aging CN bridge on Jubilee Road. This work will include the rehabilitation of the arch bridge structure, as well as the full replacement of the paved surface, railing and the sidewalks, as well as water and sewer work by Halifax Water.
Traffic impact: The nature of the work requires that a small section of Jubilee Road be closed to all vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. Detour signage will be in place for all users for the duration of the closure.
Local access, including to the St Mary’s Boat Club will be maintained from Quinpool Road via Prince Arthur Street.
The municipality and CN are collaborating to complete the required work in a safe and timely manner, while also minimizing the inconvenience for residents and commuters.

Road Construction – Larry Uteck Boulevard
Location: Larry Uteck Boulevard at the intersection of Brookline Drive (north) and Broad Street (north)
Dates: Tuesday, February 21 to Friday, March 31 Friday, April 21
Time: Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is related to the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard, Brookline Drive and Broad Street.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian access will be provided around the construction site with the assistance of traffic control personnel. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes during this period. Altered centerlines will be in place outside of these hours.

NEW WORK

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 103, Timberlea
Highway 103 will be reduced to one lane for westbound traffic from Monday, March 27, to Thursday, April 6, for installation of 250 metres of guardrail near Half Mile Lake.
Work will take place from sunrise to sunset.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, Barneys River
The new Barneys River Interchange will be used to detour Highway 104 traffic starting Saturday, March 25, through Wednesday, May 31, to prepare for the opening of the new highway.
Signs will direct drivers through the roundabouts. Approaching traffic must yield to traffic already in the roundabout.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Apple River Bridge
Apple River Bridge, on Shulie Road between Advocate and Joggins, is closed until further notice due to structural damage.
Signs and a detour are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford/Lower Sackville
Highway 102, from Exit 4A to Exit 4C, has lane reductions and intermittent road closures on the northbound and southbound highway for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 Interchange.
Highway 102 northbound and southbound, Highway 101, Bedford Highway, Bedford Bypass, Duke Street, Glendale Avenue and Sackville Drive have intermittent road closures for blasting until June 30.
Traffic control will be on-site. Road closures for blasting occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Lane reductions occur from sunrise to sunset Monday to Thursday and from sunrise to noon on Friday.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until September.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.
A detour is in place.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame
Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.
