Police Investigate Impaired Driver and Vehicle Collision

At 8:44 p.m., on the 27th of June, Halifax Regional Police received a report of a two vehicle collision in the 160 block of Ketch Harbour Road, Herring Cove.​

Officers arrested a 26 year old female driver at the scene for impaired driving.​ No one in either vehicle was injured.​

Traffic was briefly blocked in both directions of Ketch Harbour Road while the vehicles were cleared.​ The 26 year old female from Halifax, is facing Impaired Driving charges and will appear in Halifax Court on a later date.​

Police investigate two Hit & Run Collisions – Halifax

At 1:35 a.m., Halifax Regional Police received a report of a Motor Vehicle Collision where a white 4 door sedan struck a fence attached to a residence in the 1400 block of Henry Street.​ The vehicle then fled North on Henry Street.​

Moments later at 1:44 a.m., multiple callers reported a Motor Vehicle Collision where a white Nissan Altima struck a fire hydrant, breaking it off at the base, in the 6000 block of Quinpool Road Halifax.​ The driver fled on foot, last seen on Vernon Street.

Multiple patrol officers responded to both scenes and quickly located and the arrested the suspect driver on foot near Shirley Street / Vernon Street.​ Officers were able to confirm the vehicle and driver are responsible for both Hit & Run collisions.​ No one was injured in either collision.

A 25 year old male from Halifax will appear in Halifax Court on a later date and is facing the following Criminal charges: Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Refusal, Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident and Property Damage.
