Arrest made following break and enter in Bridgewater

On January 28, 2023, Bridgewater Police Service (BPS) responded to a call for a break and enter at a local residence in Bridgewater. The complainant advised that their house was broken into, and that multiple items were stolen.

Shortly after that call, a second call came in for an alarm at a local business. Upon arrival, the responding officers noticed a male exiting the business through a window and fleeing the scene.

The BPS K-9 Unit was immediately deployed. While tracking the suspect, police encountered an abandoned vehicle within which was a firearm in plain sight. Upon searching the vehicle, police seized a quantity of knives, a taser, a pellet gun, and stolen property from the earlier break and enter call. BPS Scenes of Crime Officers (SOCO) subsequently attended and processed both scenes. Police were unable to apprehend the suspect.
