Halifax RCMP charge a man with Robbery thanks to tips received from the public

Halifax District RCMP has charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Cole Harbour this past December.

On December 11, 2022, Halifax District RCMP officers responded to a robbery at a convenience store on the corner of Astral Drive and Caldwell Road.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a man had entered the store and approached the counter, demanding cash and cigarettes. After displaying a knife, the man was given a quantity of cash and cigarettes. He then fled the store.

On January 7, 2023, after receiving multiple tips from the public identifying the man involved, RCMP officers safely arrested a 36-year-old Eastern Passage man at his residence.

Robert William Stevenson, 36, has been charged with:

  • Robbery;
  • Uttering Threats

Stevenson appeared in Dartmouth Provincial Court on January 8 and was released on conditions, by the court. He will return to Dartmouth Provincial Court on February 28, 2023, at 9:30 a.m.
