Police looking for assistance regarding gunshot

 

Bridgewater Police Service is seeking the assistance of the public in relation to a gunshot discovered at an apartment unit in the community.

On Thursday, December 15, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m. police received a complaint regarding damage to a window at an apartment building unit on North Street.

The damage was initially discovered in the morning hours by the tenant, who then left for the day. The tenant returned home in the evening and called police after finding a corresponding hole in an interior wall in their apartment.

After subsequent investigation, it is believed that the damage was caused by a gunshot from an unknown firearm. Police believe the damage occurred sometime between 12 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Thursday morning.

To date, there have been no reports of noise or firearms complaints within that time frame. Police canvassed the neighbourhood and no additional evidence or information was gained from those inquiries.
