Police charge man with robbery

Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Bedford last night.

At approximately 5 p.m. officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 1595 Bedford Highway. A man came into the store and was stealing merchandise. When approached by an employee he threatened them and then fled to a waiting vehicle.

This morning at approximately 3:30 a.m. officers arrested the suspect in Halifax without further incident.

Brian Matthew Parker, 40, is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court to face charges of robbery and breach of a court order.

Parker is also facing the below charges in relation to four other incidents:

  • Theft under $5,000 (x4)
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 (x3)
  • Breach of court order (x5)
