Road Closure – Young Street

Location: Young Street between Robie and Agricola streets

Date: Wednesday, December 14 to Thursday, December 15

Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work details: This work is related to pole installation.

Traffic impact: The sidewalk on the south side of Young Street will remain open while work is underway. A detour for motorists will be in place with signage.​ Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Road Construction – St. Margarets Bay Road

Location:​ St. Margarets Bay Road, between Quarry Road and Albert Walker Drive

Date: Thursday, December 15

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.​ ​

Work details: This work is to facilitate asphalt patching on bridge expansion joints.

Traffic impact:​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.​ Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Millwood Drive

Location:​ Millwood Drive, from Rafting Drive to Beaver Bank Cross Road

Date: Thursday, December 15 (weather permitting)

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.​ ​

Work details: This work is for street recapitalization. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.​ Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Intersection of the Bedford Highway and Union Street

Date: Wednesday, December 14

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work is related to road maintenance. This project supports the​ 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan​ to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ Lane drops will be in place during this work.​ Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Traffic Delay – 5616 South Street

Location:​ 5616 South Street, Halifax

Date: Wednesday, December 14 and Thursday, December 15

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

Work details:​ This traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work. Further questions can be directed to Eastward Energy at 902.466.2003.

Traffic impact:​ Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible. Pedestrian access will be maintained on the east side of the street.

Traffic Delay – Lynnett Road intersection

Location:​ Lynnett Road, at the intersection of Herring Cove Road

Date: Tuesday, December 13 to Friday, December 16

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

Work details:​ Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work. Further questions can be directed to Eastward Energy at 902.466.2003.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be on-site while work is underway. Pedestrian sidewalk access will be maintained at all times. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location:​ Hollis Street, from Terminal Road to South Street

Date: Tuesday, December 13

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details:​ This work is related to the installation of the Hollis Street Protected Bicycle Lane, Phase 2.​

Traffic impact:​ Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Traffic Delay – Beaver Bank Road

 

Location: Beaver Bank Road, at the intersection of Millwood and Stokil drives

 

Date: Tuesday, December 13

 

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Work details: This work is related to installation of new traffic signals. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

 

Traffic impact: During this work the traffic signals will be shut down and stop-and-go traffic will be in place. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct traffic and pedestrians. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Location: Lady Hammond Road, from Robie Street to Memorial Drive

Date: Monday December 12

Time: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Work details: This work is related to road maintenance. This project support the​ 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan​ to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network

Traffic impact: Stop and go traffic will be in place during work. The traffic signals at the intersection of Robie Street and Lady Hammond Road will be shut down. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct traffic and pedestrians.​ Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Pleasant Street

Location:​ Pleasant Street, at the intersection of Osborne Avenue

Date: Saturday, December 10

Time: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work details:​ This work is for street recapitalization. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ During this time, there will lane drops in place on the inbound lanes. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Young Street

Location: 6189 Young Street

Date: Saturday, December 10 to Monday, December 12

Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the weekend and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday

Details: This work is to install underground infrastructure.

Traffic impact: One lane will remain open with stop-and-go traffic in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

NEW WORK

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 277

Route 277, from Old Trunk Road, Lantz, to Milford Road, Carrolls Corner, will be closed for road repairs from Monday, December 12, until Friday, December 23.

A detour is in place via Trunk 2.

CONTINUING WORK

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Brickton Bridge, Brickton

Brickton Bridge on Mount Hanley Road is closed for repairs until Friday, December 16.

A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Burnett Bridge, Pine Grove

Burnett Bridge, over McLean Brook on Route 224 in Pine Grove, is closed until Thursday, December 15.

Detour signs and a 30-tonne weight restriction are in place. All other trucks are to follow the posted truck route. The detour is via Saint Andrews River Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche

Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.

A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche

Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY: Apple River Bridge

Apple River Bridge, on Shulie Road between Advocate and Joggins, is closed until further notice due to structural damage.

Signs and detour are in place.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344 (Main Street), Mulgrave

Route 344/Main Street traffic is being re-routed onto the newly installed detour bridge.

The entrance to Mill Street from Main Street is closed, and drivers should use an alternate route. Signs are in place.

The detour will remain in place until Friday, December 16.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102, Bedford/Lower Sackville

Highway 102, from Exit 4A to Exit 4C, will have lane reductions and intermittent road closures on the northbound and southbound highway for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 Interchange.

Highway 102 northbound and southbound, Highway 101, Bedford Highway, Bedford Bypass, Duke Street, Glendale Avenue and Sackville Drive will have intermittent road closures for blasting until June 30, 2023.

Traffic control will be on-site. Road closures for blasting will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday to Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Lane reductions will occur from sunrise to sunset Monday to Thursday and from sunrise to noon on Friday.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.

A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp is closed until September 2023.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz

Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.

A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport

Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until further notice.

A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: East River West Side Road, Eureka

The section between 6280 East River West Side Road and Churchville Road is closed until Thursday, December 15, for the replacement of the Eureka Mills Bridge.

A detour is in place.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame

Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, from 3.2 kilometres west of Trunk 30 easterly to 600 metres east of Route 312, is reduced to one lane for road work until Friday, December 16.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Trunk 30, Tarbotvale

Trunk 30, from 500 metres west of Route 312, is reduced to one lane until Tuesday, December 20 for replacement of a retaining wall.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.
