**** NS SPCA Media Release
With the restrictions starting to lessen we wanted to share how we will be continuing to operate while following Public Health recommendations. ????
Our cleaning protocols have been increased and will be communicated to you when you book an adoption appointment.
New safety procedures like plexiglass barriers, available gloves, and social distancing makers on the floor are set up. Our shelter door will be locked so please call ahead.
▪️Adoptions will continue by appointment only. Follow the process here: www.novascotiaspca.ca/adoptionprocess
▪️Spay/neuter services will be up and running shortly. We are working on some facility improvements and then will begin working through the backlog of cancelled appointments before we begin booking new appointments. Thank you for your patience!
▪️Trap Neuter Return (TNR) services are up and running! Please message us if you are caring for any feral cats in the Halifax region
▪️Surrendering of animals (bringing in a stray or family pet) will be by appointment only. Please call, email or message us on Facebook. We do have space to assist currently
▪️Visitors are still not permitted due to our small spaces and very busy adoption appointment schedule. We appreciate your interest in stopping by to walk dogs or cuddle cats but due to social distancing recommendations, we are unable to accommodate unscheduled visitors at this time
▪️The Nova Scotia SPCA Dartmouth Thrift Store has reopened! Please check out their Facebook page for new procedures for donations and shopping. All proceeds stay in your community to support local pets in need!
▪️Donations of supplies are appreciated and accepted in the premarked areas outside the shelter. They will be sanitized and/or kept for several days to ensure no virus transmission before they can be used in our shelter
Thank you!! ????
