NS SPCA Adoptable Highlight – Sophie

Sophie

It has been a long 5 months for Sophie.
At 8-years-old, Sophie, made her way into our care after being found as a stray cat. After no luck in finding an owner, and being medically cleared for adoption, Sophie was all set to begin scouting new families. She was super pumped being up on the adoption floor and soaking up all the love from anyone willing to give her some attention.
After a week or so Sophie’s health took a turn. She developed signs of an upper respiratory illness (very common in shelter cats), but unfortunately Sophie had a hard time bouncing back from it. She was not responding to eye treatments as well as she should’ve and in the ended needed to have both of her eyes removed.
Despite this change in her life Sophie is adjusting very well and has been enjoying recovery in a loving foster home.
Sophie’s ideal forever home is a quiet environment with no young children or dog’s. She can adjust to living with calmer friendly cats.

Sophie is available for adoption through the Dartmouth SPCA. She is in a foster home and will require appointments for meeting this lovely lady. If interested in adding this feline to your home, please submit an online application to our Dartmouth shelter: https://www.novascotiaspca.ca/cat-adoption-application/
