RCMP Southeast Traffic Services recently participated in a spike belt (tire deflation device) training session with the Canadian Armed Forces Military Police Unit Halifax at CFB Shearwater.

At the session, officers first practiced deploying spike belts and then put their skills to the test to stop training vehicles. Spike belts, while not used often, stop vehicles when they are fleeing police and public safety is at risk.
