Police Investigate Theft from Vehicle and Arrest Suspect

At 3:22 a.m., 4 November, Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of a Theft from Vehicle in progress at in the 0-50 block for Plateau Crest Halifax.​ The caller reported the suspect when confronted produced a sword.​ The suspect fled on foot.​Patrol officers with a Police Service Dog tracked the suspect to the area of Alex Street and Main Avenue.​ Officers arrested the suspect still armed with a sword without incident.​ Officer confirmed no one was injured.​ A 22-year-old male from Halifax is held for court facing Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapons for Dangerous Purpose, Trespass by Night and Mischief.
