UPDATE: Eskasoni RCMP charge fifth person with attempted murder

Eskasoni RCMP has charged a fifth person with attempted murder after a stabbing that occurred on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni.

At approximately 4:35 a.m. on October 25, Eskasoni RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing on Shore Rd. in Eskasoni. RCMP officers determined that a 19-year-old man had been stabbed and was transported to hospital by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. RCMP officers arrested four people throughout the day on October 25 and all were held in custody overnight.

Andon Francis, 18, of Eskasoni, and three male youths, were all charged with Attempted Murder and have been remanded into custody. All four will return to Sydney Provincial Court on October 28, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.

A fourth male youth was arrested on October 26, and was held in custody overnight. He has been charged with Attempted Murder and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court today.

All five people involved in the stabbing have now been taken into custody and charged.

The investigation was assisted by the Northeast Nova RCMP Major Crime, Halifax District RCMP Major Crime, Inverness/Richmond County RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and RCMP Police Dog Services.
