Police charge man for break and enter
Police have charged a man in relation to a break and enter that occurred last night in Halifax.
At approximately 11:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of a break and enter in progress in the 5600 block of Charles Street. A man broke into a building, stole money from the laundry machines and fled the area on foot prior to officers arriving on scene.
Officers arrested the man a short distance away without incident.
Raymond Kenneth Goldsmith, 59, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face the following charges:
- Break and enter
- Possession of break-in tools
- Possession of stolen property under $5,000
- Property damage
