Kings District RCMP charge driver in vehicle-pedestrian collision in Wolfville
Kings District RCMP is investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred on Main St. in Wolfville.
On September 26, 2022, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Kings District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a collision on Main St. in Wolfville. RCMP officers learned that a white Ford F150 pickup truck was travelling west on Main St. when it collided with a pedestrian who had been crossing the street, in a crosswalk, at the intersection of Main St. and University Ave.
The pedestrian, a 19-year-old Wolfville man, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance. The driver of the pickup truck, a 40-year-old Wolfville man, was uninjured.
The driver of the pickup truck has been charged with a Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk, which carries a fine of $697.50 under the Motor Vehicle Act.
As the school year is settles in, it brings with it a notable increase in pedestrian traffic. Kings District RCMP encourage all drivers and pedestrians to travel safety and be aware of their surroundings.
