Kings District RCMP charge man with assault with a weapon in Berwick
Kings District RCMP has charged a man after an incident in a Berwick park on August 26, 2022.
On August 26, 2022, at approximately 6:50 p.m., Kings District RCMP responded to an attempted armed robbery in a park in Berwick. RCMP officers located the suspect a short time later and he was safely arrested. As the investigation continued, RCMP officers learned that the suspect had also sexually assaulted another person in the same area.
Thomas Stasiuk, 39, of Wilmot, has been charged with the following:
- Assault with a Weapon;
- Sexual Assault;
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
- Mischief under $5,000
Stasiuk has been remanded in custody and will appear in Kentville Provincial Court today.
The investigation is ongoing.
