Road Closure – Almon Street
Location: Almon Street, from Robie to Gladstone streets
Date: Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work for Heritage Gas. For questions, residents may contact Heritage Gas at 902.466.2003.
Traffic impact: Almon Street, from Robie to Gladstone streets, will be closed while work is underway. Emergency, local and pedestrian access will be maintained. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Rocky Lake Drive
Location: Rocky Lake Drive between Duke Street and Cobequid Road
Date: Saturday, August 20 & Sunday, August 21
Time: From 1 a.m. on Aug. 20 to 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 21
Work details: Construction of an overpass for the NS Highway 107 Sackville-Bedford-Burnside Connector.
Traffic impact: Rocky Lake Drive will be closed to all traffic between Duke Street and Quarrystone Drive while the new highway overpass is being constructed. Local access will be maintained via Cobequid Road up to Quarrystone Drive. The street will reopen on Sunday once the work area has been made safe for motorists. Detour signage will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes, if possible.

Road Construction – Washmill Lake Drive
Location: Washmill Lake Drive from Grandhaven Boulevard to Bentley Drive
Date: Thursday, August 18
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Chain Lake Drive
Location: Chain Lake Drive, from Lacewood to Washmill Lake drives
Date: Wednesday, Aug. 17
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic Delay – Connaught Avenue and Almon Street Intersection
Location: Connaught Avenue and Almon Street intersection
Date: Friday, August 19
Time: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is to conduct a geotechnical investigation.
Traffic Impact: Connaught Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction. Almon Street between George Dauphinee Avenue and Connaught Avenue will be closed to eastbound traffic. The sidewalk adjacent to the worksites on the east side of Connaught Avenue and the south side of Almon Street will be temporarily closed. Detour signage will be in place, but road users can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Ilsley Avenue
Location: Ilsley Avenue between MacDonald and Raddall Avenues
Date: Wednesday, August 17
Time: 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work details: This work is to support connecting telecommunications lines to a business.
Traffic Impact: Stop and go traffic will be in place. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Traffic Delay – Bayers Road
Location: Bayers Road between Romans Avenue and Desmond Avenue
Date: Tuesday, August 16
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Work details: This work is to connect commercial telecommunications lines to a business.
Traffic Impact: Traffic will be down to one lane outbound. Access will be maintained to Highway 102 and to Joseph Howe Drive. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Road Closure – Barrington Street Ramp
Location: Southbound ramp from Barrington Street to Hollis Street in the Cogswell District (see attached map)
Date: Effective Wednesday, August 17
Time: 24/7
Work details: The southbound ramp from Barrington Street to Hollis Street will be permanently closed. This work is in preparation of a by-pass road in support of the Cogswell District project. The by-pass road is expected to be in place in Fall 2022.
Traffic impact: Motorists will maintain southbound access via Barrington Street. Northbound traffic on Barrington Street can access Hollis Street via Upper Water Street. The southbound ramp sidewalk will be closed and pedestrian traffic will be directed southbound on Barrington Street to Duke Street. The parking spaces on the ramp will be eliminated. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative routes.

Location: Timberlea Village Parkway, from Highway 103 to St. Margaret’s Bay Road
Date: Tuesday, August 16
Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate pavement testing relating to pre-engineering design for future project work.
Traffic impact: During this work, stop-and-go traffic in place will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: Joseph Howe Drive, between Scot Street and Dutch Village Road
Date: Tuesday, August 16
Time: From 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Work details: This work is to support connecting commercial telecommunications lines to a business.
Traffic Impact: Traffic will be down to one lane northbound. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Motorists can expect delays in the area and are asked to take alternative routes where possible.

Location: Tower Road, from Inglis Street to Southwood Drive
Date: Tuesday, Aug. 16 to Thursday, Aug. 18
Time: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day
Work details: This work includes asphalt paving and concrete repairs. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Tower Road, from Inglis Street to Southwood Drive, will be closed while work is underway. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes when possible. Marked detours will be in place. Pedestrian and local traffic access will remain in place during this closure.

Location: Lucasville Road, from Bryanston Road to Sackville River Bridge
Date: Monday, Aug. 15 to Friday, Aug. 19

Road Construction – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: Intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Highway 102, Exit 0
Date: August 15 to early December
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, with evening and weekend work as required.
Work details: This project supports upgrades to the intersection of Joseph Howe Drive and Highway 102, Exit 0 and establishes a safer and more connected active transportation network as part of the Regional Centre Cycling Network outlined in the Integrated Mobility Plan.
Traffic impact: Traffic delays can be expected due to lane reductions; however, at least one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction. Motorists should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes whenever possible.
Pedestrians and cyclists can expect to encounter sidewalk closures at times on the Joseph Howe Drive sidewalk and the Chain of Lakes trail; however, one sidewalk on either side of Joseph Howe Drive will remain open.

Street Closure – Seymour Street
Location: Seymour Street, from University Avenue to Coburg Road
Date: Sunday, August 14 to Saturday, September 3
Time: 24/7 closure
Work details: Reinstatement of Seymour Street closure for the Dalhousie University Arts Centre expansion & Werkliv projects.
Traffic impact: There will be a full street closure in place with vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic being redirected at both entrances to Seymour Street.

DIGBY COUNTY: Morganville Road, Morganville
Morganville Road will be closed from Sissibo Road to Barnes Lake Road to replace a damaged culvert from Monday, August 15, until Wednesday, August 24.
The detour is via River Road and Lansdown Road.

RICHMOND COUNTY: West Bay Road, St. Peter’s
West Bay Road, from Nature Dream Boulevard westerly for 4.6 kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving until September 30.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

YARMOUTH COUNTY: Hardscratch Road, Yarmouth
Hardscratch Road, from the Yarmouth town line to Greenville Road, will have alternating lane closures for paving and patching from Monday, August 15, to Wednesday, August 31.
Traffic control is on site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River
Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, is reduced to one lane for about one kilometre.
Twinning work continues until 2023.
Signs are in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.

CAPE BRETON REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Salmon River Bridge, Grand Mira North
Salmon River Bridge on Intervale Road will be closed for repairs until Friday, August 19.
The detour is via Grand Mira North Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Burnett Bridge
Burnett Bridge, over MacLean Brook on Route 224 in Pine Grove/Gays River, is closed until further notice.
Detour signs and a 30-tonne weight restriction are in place. All other trucks are to follow the posted truck route. The detour is via Saint Andrews River Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche
Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.
A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro
Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, will be reduced to one lane northbound until October 31 due to planned work on the bridge decking.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche
Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344 (Main Street), Mulgrave
Route 344/Main Street traffic is being re-routed onto the newly installed detour bridge.
The entrance to Mill Street from Main Street is closed, and drivers should use an alternate route. Signs are in place.
The detour will remain in place until August 31.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Trunk 16
Trunk 16, from 1.4 kilometres north of Lincolnville Loop, north to Mattie Road, will be reduced to one lane for brush clearing and road work until August 31.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.
A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp will be closed until September 2023.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz
Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.
A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport
Indian Path Bridge, Route 332, is closed for replacement until October.
A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: East River West Side Road, Eureka
The section between 6280 East River West Side Road and Churchville Road will be closed until October 31 for the replacement of the Eureka Mills Bridge.

Route 289 (Little Harbour Road), from the New Glasgow town line northerly to Route 348, is reduced to one lane for paving and patching until August 31.

Westville Road at the Westville Road Bridge over Highway 104 will be closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

Highway 103, about 100 metres west of Exit 24, will have alternating lane closures for rehabilitation work on Jordan Falls Bridge until August 31.
