Powercom/Milcom Underwater Wireless Diver Units recalled due to Fire Hazard
Issue
The battery PCB board can short circuit and ignite when flooded, posing a fire hazard.
As of June 29th, 2022, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the Unites States, the company has received one report of incident where PCB board in the battery pack shorted and ignited. No injuries were reported.
Affected products
This recall involves the following Powercom/Milcom Underwater wireless diver units:
- Powercom 3000D
- Powercom 5000D
- Milcom 6000D
The brand name and model number are written on the black diver unit. All serial numbers are included in this recall.
What you should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Powercom/Milcom Underwater wireless diver units and contact Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) for a replacement battery.
