Police arrest man in robbery

Police have arrested a man in relation to a robbery that occurred earlier in Halifax.

At approximately 3 p.m. police responded to a robbery at the Canadian Tire store located at 194 Chain Lake Drive. A man entered the store, stole merchandise then fled the store. When staff approached the man, he produced a knife and swung it at a staff member. The suspect then fled to a waiting vehicle.

Officers arrested the man in the vehicle a short distance away and charges are anticipated.

The staff member was treated at the scene for their injuries.

Police investigate armed robbery / stabbing in Dartmouth

Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in Dartmouth last night.

At approximately 10:40 p.n., officers responded to a robbery that had just occurred in the 0-100 block of Highfield Park Drive.  A food delivery driver was assaulted and stabbed by another man not known to him. The man continued to assault the victim and attempted to take his property. The suspect then fled the area on foot. The victim was transported to hospital by EHS for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a black man, in his late 30’s’s, approximately 5’6″ with a stocky build. He was wearing a black bandana covering his face time of the incident.
