Update; ​ Police respond to suspected drowning​ in Dartmouth 

On June 27th at 7:14 p.m.​ Halifax Regional Police and Halifax Fire and Emergency​ responded to Maynard Lake,​ Dartmouth​ for a report of a missing swimmer.​
Witnesses reported​ an​ adult man​ was​ having trouble swimming and​ had gone underwater and could not be located.


A joint response was quickly conducted by officers and firefighters, but unfortunately​ they were unable to​ locate​ the man.
Shortly after 1:30 a.m., the body of the man​ was located by the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.​

Police and Halifax Fire and Emergencies have now cleared Maynard Lake.


The identity of the 21-year-old male​ is not being released at this time.

At​ 7:14​ pm, Halifax Regional Police and Halifax Fire and Emergency​ responded to Maynard Lake near the​ 0-100 block of Murray Hill Drive,​ Dartmouth​ for a report of a missing swimmer.​


Witnesses reported​ an​ adult male was​ having trouble swimming and​ had gone underwater and could not be located.


A joint response was quickly conducted by officers and firefighters but unfortunately, they were unable to​ locate​ the male.
It is believed the man​ drowned in the incident.


Halifax Regional Police with the assistance of the RCMP dive team are currently on scene at Maynard Lake​ and attempts are being made to locate​ the male.


The identity of the 21-year-old male​ is not being released at this time.
