Police investigate shooting
At 11:03 P.M. on June 22nd, police were called to the area of Duke Street in Bedford near Damascus Road and the 102 Highway for reports of a vehicle and occupant inside that were struck by gunfire.
A white pickup truck was located nearby with evidence suggesting it was struck by gunfire. A man was also located that had suffered from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to the QE2 hospital in Halifax for those injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening, but will require admission for surgery.
The incident is in the early stages of investigation. Members of Patrol, the Criminal Investigative Division, Forensic Identification Services as well as K-9 are all contributing to the investigation.
The incident is not believed to be random and there is no ongoing risk to the public.

Police investigate robbery.
At 1:07 A.M. on June 23rd, Police were called to the Irving Gas Bar located at 219 Pleasant Street in Dartmouth for a Robbery call made by the clerk at this location.
It was learned that a suspect entered the store and produced a knife, demanding cigarettes and cash. A quantity of both were taken. The suspect had fled prior to police arrival.
The clerk was not injured in the incident.
Members from Patrol and a K-9 officer are investigating. At this time, the suspect has not been located. Their description is as follows:
A white man, thin build, 5’7″, a small amount of facial hair, wearing dark pants and a gray sweater with the hood pulled up.
