Police charge man in relation to multiple thefts
Police have charged a man in relation to multiple thefts from a business in Dartmouth over the last two months.
Between April 16 and June 18 police investigated multiple reports of thefts from the Sunglass Hut at 21 Mic Mac Boulevard. In each case the man entered the store and stole multiple pairs of sunglasses before fleeing on foot. The total value of stolen sunglasses was in excess of $45,000.
On June 18 police responded to another theft at the same location. Police arrested the man nearby without incident in relation to the thefts as well as an outstanding warrant.
Joshua David Boutilier, 37, is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
- Theft over $5000 (x9)
- Possession of stolen goods over $5000 (x9)
- Theft under $5000 (x9)
- Possession of stolen goods under $5000 (x9)
- Breach of probation (x12)
- Failing to attend court
