Police charge man for indecent act

Police have charged a man in relation to an indecent act that occurred in Halifax last week.

On May 13 at approximately 10:45 p.m. officers responded to report of a man who was exposing himself in the 1800 block of Barrington Street. The man had attempted to get into a woman’s vehicle as she was leaving the area. Officers arrested the man in the area without incident.

A 50-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of an indecent act.

 

Police charge man for robbery

Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Halifax on the weekend.

On May 15 at approximately 2:40 a.m. police responded a report of a robbery that had just occurred in the 5400 block of Spring Garden Road.​ A man armed with a knife demanded money from three men who were walking in the area and assaulted one of the men. Officers arrested the suspect who was still in the area and seized the knife.

Cyril Bradley Mercury, 38, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:

  • Robbery (x 3)
  • Assault with a weapon (x 3)
  • Uttering threats (x 3)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Failure to comply with condition of release order
  • Failure to comply with undertaking
