Notice of prohibition: Piping plover area closure

PIPING PLOVER AREA CLOSURE

EFFECTIVE DATE:

April 28, 2022 until further notice.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES:

Pursuant to section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activity is hereby PROHIBITED by order of the Superintendent, Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada.

It is prohibited to:

Enter Piping Plover habitat including St. Catherine’s River Beach and Little Port Joli Beach.

WHERE:

Kejimkujik Seaside, Kejimkujik National Park of Canada, including St. Catherine’s River Beach and Little Port Joli Beach areas (see map).

WHY:

To protect the endangered Piping Plover.

NOTE:

It is an offence under the Canada National Parks Act to contravene these prohibitions. Violators may be charged.
