RCMP arrest impaired driver after 911 call

Colchester County District RCMP has arrested an impaired driver on Pictou Rd. in Bible Hill after responding to a 911 call.

On January 11, at approximately 9:45 p.m., police responded to a 911 call about a vehicle that had struck a snow bank and was then observed swerving as it continued driving on Pictou Rd. in Bible Hill. Police located the vehicle a short time later and conducted a traffic stop.

In speaking with the driver, a 38-year-old Bible Hill woman, police observed that she was displaying signs of impairment. The woman was arrested and transported to the Bible Hill RCMP Detachment where she provided samples of breath that more than four times over the legal limit.

The woman was released from custody and will be facing charges of Impaired Operation of a Conveyance and Impaired Operation of a Conveyance over 80mg%. She will appear in Truro Provincial Court at a later date.

Road safety continues to be a priority for the Nova Scotia RCMP, we continue to encourage the public to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver. It might just save a life.
