UPDATE: RCMP execute warrant, arrest two people in search for Michael Sinton

Colchester County District RCMP has executed a public safety warrant at a home and arrested two people in connection to the search for Michael Sinton.

On November 22, police responded to a report of a man who was making threats to harm a woman known to him and threats to harm himself. Police learned that the man was believed to be in possession of a firearm and had driven into the woods in Nuttby on a green ATV.

After an extensive search of the Nuttby area by Colchester County District RCMP, Nova Scotia RCMP Emergency Response Team and RCMP Police Dog Services, Sinton was not located.

Yesterday, police executed a public safety warrant at a home on Upper Brookside Rd. in Upper Brookside. Police arrested two people at the home without incident. During the search, police seized a number of firearms and ammunition.

The two people arrested at the home, a 65-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman. Both will be charged with Obstruction of Justice and Accessory After the Fact for aiding Sinton in avoiding arrest. The two were released on conditions and will appear in Truro Provincial Court at a later date to face the charges.
