Police charge man for assault on Halifax Transit driver
Police have charged a man for assaulting a Halifax Transit driver in Halifax last night.
At approximately 9:45 p.m. police responded to a report of an assault in progress in the 1800 block of Barrington Street. A passenger on a Halifax Transit bus started to yell at the driver of the bus when it stopped at the Barrington Street Terminal. The passenger assaulted the driver and then left the area on foot. The Halifax Transit driver was not physically injured.
A short time later, a Halifax Transit Supervisor spotted the suspect nearby and officers arrested the man without incident.
A 51-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face one count of assault.

Police charge two people with weapons and drug offences
Police have charged two people with weapons and drug offences in relation to an incident in Dartmouth last week.
At approximately 10:45 p.m. on October 28 police responded to a weapons complaint involving a group of people firing what was believed to be BB guns at another person in the area of Brompton Road in Dartmouth. The investigation led officers to a residence on Highfield Park Drive in Dartmouth. Shortly after midnight, officers arrested 10 people in the residence, eight were later released without charges.
Investigators from both the General Investigation Section and the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division searched the residence. They seized a quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis and psilocybin as well as various pills, in excess of $12,000 and three replica firearms.
A 20-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
- Pointing a firearm
- Use of a firearm in commission of an offence
- Careless use of a weapon
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (x6)
- Possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution
A 16-year-old youth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:
- Pointing a firearm
- Use of a firearm in commission of an offence
- Careless use of a weapon
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon dangerous to the public
