Potential exposures to COVID-19 at locations in Central and Northern Zones and one Air Canada flight

Nova Scotia Health Public Health is advising of potential exposure to COVID-19 at various locations in Central and Northern Zones and one Air Canada flight. In addition to media releases, all potential exposure notifications are listed here: http://www.nshealth.ca/covid-exposures.

Anyone who worked at or visited the following locations on the specified dates and times should visit covid-self-assessment.novascotia.ca/ to book a COVID-19 test, regardless of whether or not they have symptoms. You can also call 811 if you don’t have online access, or if you have other symptoms that concern you.

Low risk exposures​

For the following locations, if you do not have any symptoms of COVID-19 you do not need to self-isolate while you wait for your test result. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 you are required to self-isolate while you wait for your test result.

• Maritime Mosaic (129 Victoria Street, Amherst) on August 14 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.

• Lower Deck Bar & Grill (278 Lacewood Drive, Halifax) on August 19 between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 2.

Moderate risk exposures

Regardless of whether or not you have COVID-19 symptoms, those present at the following locations on the named dates and times for at least 15 minutes are required to follow the self-isolation instructions noted in this table for a moderate risk exposure, based on your vaccination status. COVID-19 testing is also recommended and if you get a positive result, you will be contacted by Public Health about what to do next.

• The Balcony Candy Shoppe (129 Victoria Street, Amherst) on August 14 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.

• Curly’s Sports and Supplements (129 Victoria Street, Amherst) on August 14 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, August 28.

• Split Crow Pub (1855 Granville Street, Halifax) on August 19 between 6:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus at this location on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 2. *Patio area is considered low risk, please see instructions above.

Anyone who was on the following flight in the specified rows and seats are required to follow the isolation and testing instructions in this table as a high risk contact.​

• Air Canada 660 travelling on August 19 from Montreal (8:05 a.m.) to Halifax (10:35 a.m.). Passengers in rows 26 to 32 seats A, C and D. It is anticipated that anyone exposed to the virus on this flight on the named date may develop symptoms up to, and including, September 2.​

Please note:

Please get tested at a primary assessment centre or public health mobile unit; do not go to a pop-up rapid testing location.

Nova Scotians also have the option to access their results online at c19results.nshealth.ca/. To be eligible to receive results online, by email or by auto call, you need to bring a provincial health card or student ID with you to your testing appointment. It can take up to 72 hours to receive or access test results. It is not unusual for two or more family members to be tested at the same time and receive results at different times.
