Location: Bayview Road, from Bedford Highway to Lacewood Drive

Date: Friday, Aug. 27

Time: 12 noon to 3 p.m.

Time: Weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily

Work details: This work is to install and restore a natural gas pipeline.

Traffic impact: One-way traffic will be maintained at all times during construction​

Nighttime Road Construction – Bayers Road

Location: Bayers Road, between Connaught and Vaughan avenues

Date: Overnight on Tuesday, August 24 and on Wednesday, August 25

Time: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation, in support of the Bayers Road Transit Priority Corridor project.

Location: Windsor Drive (between Allenby Drive and Penny Lane) and Buckingham Drive (between Windsor Drive and Penny Lane)

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Work details: This work is for installation of traffic calming.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Location: Lucasville Road, from Hammonds Plains to 1390 Lucasville roads.

Date:​ Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation.​ This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: The traffic signals at the intersection of Hammonds Plains and Lucasville roads will be shut down while work is underway. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists and pedestrians around the site.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Night Time Road Construction – St. Margarets Bay Road

Date: Friday, August 20

Time: ​ 8 p.m. on Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday

Traffic impact: During this work there will be stop and go traffic.​ Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Mount Edward Road


Location: 
Mount Edward Road from John Cross Drive to Woodlawn Road

Date: Weekdays, Friday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 27

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily

Work details: This work is related to pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ Mount Edward will closed to all traffic from John Cross Drive to Woodlawn Road. A marked detour will be in place.

Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Caledonia Road

Location: Caledonia Road from Dumbarton Avenue to Breeze Drive

Date:​ Tuesday, Aug. 17 ​ and Wednesday, Aug. 18 Friday, Aug. 20

Time: Tuesday, Aug. 17 from Noon to 6 pm ​ and Wednesday, Aug. 18 from 7 am to 6 pm. 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact: Stop and Go traffic will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.​

Construction during COVID-19:​ Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.

 

**** Provincial Media Release

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Beaver Harbour Road, Beaver Harbour

Beaver Harbour Road, from Trunk 7 southerly for three kilometres, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from sunrise to sunset.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant

Dillmans Bridge on Wyse Road is closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 111

Roadwork at exits 4 on Highway 111 and exits 11 both northbound and southbound on Highway 118 is expected to be complete Friday, Sept 3.

Work will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Detours will be in place periodically.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Peggys Point Road, Peggy’s Cove

Peggys Point Road, from the Visitor Information Centre west for about one kilometre, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until Wednesday, Sept. 15.

Work to take place from sunrise to sunset.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz

A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.

The detour has a reduced speed limit of 80 kilometres an hour and is expected to be in place until Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road is expected to be complete and open to traffic by Sunday, Oct. 31.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103

Highway 103, between exits 9 and 10, has alternating lane closures for roadwork until Thursday, Sept. 30.

Work takes place 24 hours per day.

PICTOU COUNTY: Highway 104, Eastbound Lanes

Highway 104 eastbound between exits 20 and 21 is reduced to one lane for road work until Tuesday, Aug. 31.

Work takes place from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River

Highway 104, westbound lane about 1 kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, will be reduced to one lane for approximately 1 kilometre.

Twinning work begins Wednesday, Aug. 25 and continues until 2023.

Signage is in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.
